The future King of Jordan will marry a Saudi woman

The good news is linked in the Hashemite royal family. A few weeks after the announcement of the engagement of Princess Iman, eldest daughter of King Abdallah II and Queen Rania, it is the turn of the son of the sovereigns to make his big announcement. The Princess Iman is engaged to the one presented by the Royal Court as Jameel Thermiotis. The Court is rather stingy with information and we investigated to discover the true origins of her fiancéwho is a Venezuelan of Greek descent and whose real name is Dimitrios “Jimmy” Alexander Thermiotis Hernández.

On August 17, 2022, the Royal Hashemite Court announced in a slightly longer press release the engagement of Crown Prince Hussein, elder brother of Princess Iman. The press release simply specifies the manner in which the engagement request took place, in Riyadh, in the family of Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif. Once again, despite the importance of knowing the origins of the bride, the Court refrains from giving too much information.

The origins of Rajwa Al Saif: Who is his father Khaled Musaed El Saif?

Histoires Royales can give you some insight into the origins and identity of Rajwa. Rajwa Al-Saif or El-Saif, depending on the transcript, was born on April 28, 1994. The young woman is of Saudi nationality, as the press release implied. the Saudi Gazette indicates that she received her secondary education in Saudi Arabia, then she joined the faculty of architecture at Syracuse University, in New York.

As her name suggests, Rajwa is the daughter of Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif, also transcribed Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz El-Saif and Azza bint Nayef Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Sudairi. His father, Khaled Musaed El-Saif is a powerful Saudi businessman. He is the President and CEO of theEl Saif Groupa conglomerate active in nine business sectors and employing a total of 40,000 people worldwide.

Khaled M. El-Saif, a graduate in civil engineering at the American University of Beirut, concentrates his activities in Saudi Arabia but also in Lebanon. He is also a board member of the US-Saudi Business Council and the British-Saudi Business Council. “A prominent member of the business community in Saudi Arabia, (…) Mr. Al Seif is active in various committees and councils dealing with the promotion of international trade and rapprochement relations with the West”Write the US-Saudi Business Council.

The El-Saif group is active in several sectors but specializes in construction. The company has been involved in several landmark construction projects, including the iconic Kingdom Tower in Riyadh, the Jewels Twin Towers project in Dubai and the Silhouette Tower in Qatar.

According to the magazine Construct Weekthe El Saif Group, is one of the oldest construction companies in Saudi Arabia, founded in 1951. El Seif was initially in the trade and transport sectors with a large fleet of vehicles, but moved into construction General in 1975 and now has branches in Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Beirut.

According Roya News, the Al-Saif family is said to be descended from the Subai tribe, in the historic region of Sudair. This region in the east of the current country is located about a hundred kilometers north of Riyadh. After the time of the Sultanate of Nejd, which became a kingdom in 1926, the heads of the Al Saif family became sheikhs, or governors, of the city of Al-Attar, when Nejd merged with Hejaz to form the current Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The marriage between Abdallah and Rania was a true marriage of love and their meeting was not arranged. King Abdallah, British through his mother, and Queen Rania, of Palestinian origin, form a modern couple with a Court that is modeled on the functioning of European Courts. However, their origins also influence their politics. King Abdullah is known for his closeness to the West and his great friendship with the United Kingdom, of which Jordan was once a protectorate. He is also pro-Palestinian, his wife’s origins, and campaigns for the creation of a dual state. Furthermore, Jordan guarantees the protection of the Holy Places in Jerusalem. Will Rajwa’s Saudi origins now have an influence on the country’s politics in the future? The king and his family have increased trips to Saudi Arabia lately, perhaps private trips and justified by the announcement of the engagement.
