New challenge for Clémence Castel! Double winner of “Koh-Lanta”, creature of “Fort Boyard” and winner of “Traitors” of M6 alongside David Douillet, the young woman is about to make her debut on the boards of “Dance with the Stars”, this Friday, September 9, 2022. A pride for the adventurer who recently spoke about her health problems.
In 2005, Clémence Castel was only 21 years old whenshe won “Koh-Lanta” for the very first time. Since then, she has established herself as the ultimate adventurer by participating in other seasons and winning a new victory, while multiplying the projects in parallel. Blossoming on the professional side, she is also so on the personal side since she has found love in the arms of a certain Marie. Indeed, in 2020, she came out, after having lived for many years with Mathieu Johann, a former student of the “Star Academy” with whom she had two children.

Clémence Castel can no longer get pregnant
Her little boys, Louis and Marin, were born in 2010 and 2014 respectively. That year, the adventurer discovered with sadness that she could no longer have children. After being silent for many years, she revealed in March 2022 to suffer from a benign but inoperable tumor which prevents any potential new pregnancy. On Instagram, she spoke honestly about her journey: “I’ll tell you everything: following my second delivery in 2014, the doctors discovered an abnormal lump in my pelvis… The announcement of the presence of a tumor the day after my giving birth worried me enormously… Weeks of doubts followed, while waiting for the result of the biopsy carried out a few days after the delivery… Verdict: hormone-dependent desmoid tumor…”
Do not panic however, this tumor does not harm his health. On the other hand, it is impossible to remove: “Given the location, it is impossible to remove it without causing damage around… So since then, I have been living with it, I have the chance to feel no pain, to have no treatment.” This does not prevent him from having regular check-ups to check that the problem is not getting worse.
What is a hormone-dependent tumour?
The tumor suffered by Clémence Castel is also called fibromatosis. It is a tumor that does not produce metastasis, which is why it is called benign, unlike a cancerous tumor. These desmoid tumours, however, are not without consequences, since they can develop and cause both pain and deformities, hence the importance of regular monitoring. It is an extremely rare pathology which mainly affects adults, and concerns only 300 diagnoses per year in France, all ages combined.
Still on Instagram, the adventurer had clarified: “The evolution of this size depends on hormones, which excludes any taking of hormonal birth control. On this point, with regard to my life as a couple, it does not bother me more than that!” However, she also had to give up a potential third pregnancy: “It is really not recommended for me to carry another child because a new pregnancy could cause the size of this lump to flare up (which today is approaching the size of a ping-pong ball)…”
