Sochaux new leader, Caen and Le Havre climb on the podium / Ligue 2 / J8 / Summary / SOFOOT.com

Solid winner of Dijon, Sochaux took first place in Ligue 2 this Saturday evening, whose podium was turned upside down after the defeat of Bordeaux this afternoon and the successes of Caen and Le Havre. At the bottom of the classification, Rodez passes the red lantern, while Pau and Annecy breathe a little. Finally, Paris FC got out of the Grenoble trap, and the meeting between Nîmes and Bastia was lively, but not in the best way.

Unstoppable Sochaux, Caen impresses

We had to wait for the 26e minute of this multiplex of the eighth day of Ligue 2 to see the nets shake. As evidence, it was Sochaux who shook the coconut tree on a millimeter cross from Julien Faussurier cut from the head by Ibrahim Sissoko (0-1, 26e). On fire after a complicated start to the match, the Sochaliens made the break in the second half thanks to a number from Moussa Doumbia (0-2, 55e) and validate a fifth success in a row which propels them to the top of the championship. Much more tense atmosphere at the Costières stadium where Nîmes and Bastia ended the match with zero goals, but three red cards: one for the Nîmes after a sole from Thibaut Vargas on the tibia of Dylan Tavares (27e), and two for the Bastiais, Christophe Vincent – for a second warning collected (59e) – being joined in the final seconds by Frank Magri (88e).

In Niort, Le Havre could have regretted Yann Kitala’s missed penalty (37e). Fortunately for the latter, Victor Lekhal set the record straight, again on a kick from nine meters (0-1, 54e)and allows the HAC to pass third in Ligue 2. Opposite scenario for Tolu Arokodare and Amiens, since the striker saw his penalty superbly repelled by Anthony Mandrea, the Caen goalkeeper (43e). Except that as a bonus, Stade Malherbe pocketed the three points thanks to as many pawns signed Alexandre Mendy, less than a minute after returning from the locker room (1-0, 46e)Samuel Essende of a nugget in a skylight (2-0, 56e) and Romain Thomas from the head (3-0, 71e). A result that allows Caen (second), despite the reduction in the Formose Mendy score (3-1, 82e)to pass his evening opponent (fifth).

Paris FC on the wire, strong emotions in Annecy

The excellent match of Brice Maubleu in the cages of Grenoble will not have been enough. Despite Morgan Guilavogui’s superb opener (0-1, 61e)the GF38 thought to collect a point at home thanks to Abdoulie Sanyang (1-1, 78e)but a penalty from Mehdi Chahiri in the final moments (1-2, 89e) sealed the atmosphere at the Stade des Alpes. A success that Rodez did not know, the Aveyronnais not capitalizing on the pawn of Kilian Corredor (1-0, 52e). Reduced to ten after the expulsion of Rémy Boissier (70e)the RAF was joined by a reflex goal from Marius Noubissi (1-1, 73e).

If Annecy won its second victory of the season, it was above all necessary to have the heart hooked in Haute-Savoie. Quite dull for more than an hour, the meeting was strongly packed in a few minutes. First with the horrible injury of Alexandre Phliponeau whose leg, in a duel, almost bent at 90 degrees, then thanks to the jewel of the evening signed Alexy Bosetti, whose sumptuous volley (1-0, 74e) brought a smile back to the Parc des Sports in Annecy. Finally, as Laval and Pau headed for a sad 0-0, Mons Bassouamina put on his best John Carew suit and slammed a backheel from close range (0-1, 87e) which offers an almost unexpected victory to the Béarnais, now penultimate in Ligue 2, ahead of Rodez.
