Master of the ball throughout the game, much less penalized than Colomiers, Agen yet again surrendered against Colomiers.
Very quickly, we were worried about the SUA. We knew the men of Bernard Goutta friable in touch and lack of realism in the brand areas. If in the alignment, Antoine Erbani reigned supreme, his team wasted too many opportunities. Without stigmatizing, Jean-Marcellin Buttin, on this first act, is the perfect illustration. Two great breakthroughs for the rear of Agenais, but also two completely missed passes at the time of conclusion.
Sporting overwhelmingly had the ball in the first half, but did not know how to use it well. On the contrary, Colomiers has wagered on dispossession and occupation. But on their only two forays into the Lot-et-Garonne camp in the first half, Jean Thomas’ teammates scored. By a drop from Maxime Javaux first (6th), and a strong try from the powerful Pierre-Samuel Pacheco (0-10, 21st).
Agen was unable to completely reverse the trend
A score that makes a mess for an Agen team which had already lowered its flag a fortnight ago against Grenoble in Armandie. So Bernard Goutta came down from the stands. Is it the close presence of their manager that energized the “blue and white”? They were, in any case, much more energetic and sharp. Lagarde first made a new foray into the 22 meters (33rd), and USC found themselves reduced to 14.
Then the SUA pulled off a big overall move. After a touchdown, the forwards “tapped” in the midfield. Quickly found on the outside, Tevita Railevu played bowling with the defenders. New fastball outing and Malik Hamadache sprinted in the 22 meters. And Iban Etcheverry reminded Armandie of his qualities as a finisher (8-10, 37th). Agen could have knocked out Colomiers on the last action after a ball comeback from his hinge, but the action finally aborted on a forward.
Had the flies changed donkeys? They took a long time to choose in any case. If Agen seemed to dominate the match, Colomiers always showed implacable realism (11-16, 60th). Agen replied with a penalty finally concluded in force by the forwards and Zak Farrance to take the score for the first time in the match (62nd).
As in the derby in Montauban, the gap to the final score was going to be played out in a pocket handkerchief. Javaux and Vincent answered each other for a finish at loggerheads (21-19, 75th).
But in the game of realism last night, Colomiers was the best. Twice as penalized as the SUA, the Haut-Garonnais were nevertheless able to score on almost each of their incursions into the opposing camp. At 100%, Javaux passed three new points.
On the siren, Agen no longer had a choice and embarked on a crazy ascent from its 22 meters. Reaching thirty meters from the poles, Goutta’s players then sought the winning penalty. But the referee of the meeting decided to raise his arm in the other direction for his last whistle.
The SUA has still not won in Armandie. Ne will fulfill its objective of 12 points on this first block. And must sound the alarm bell before moving to Rouen.
