The explanations for this cancellation…
Fans who had purchased tickets for the concert on Friday June 16, 2023 at the Stade de Genève have been informed of its cancellation.
Here is the press release from Live Music Production posted on the website ticketcorner.ch :
“Nevermore, Mylène Farmer’s phenomenal new tour will take place in 2023 in all the biggest stadiums in France, Switzerland and Belgium between June and July 2023. On the twelve dates announced, more than 400,000 seats have already been sold.
Mylène Farmer’s long-awaited concert in Geneva went on sale in the midst of a pandemic, with capacity restrictions which forced us to put only 50% of the tickets on sale and to spread the tickets over two dates.
In Switzerland, the restrictions have finally been lifted and we can once again produce concerts at full capacity.
For this reason we must cancel the date scheduled for Friday 16 and only keep the date of Saturday June 17, 2023.
We can imagine the disappointment that this decision may cause for some and we are deeply sorry, but this exit from the pandemic imposes complicated and sometimes painful decisions on us.
For spectators in possession of tickets for Friday the 16th:
– SEATING PLACES
tickets are refunded.
The seats for Saturday are already well sold and we can only encourage you not to wait to buy your tickets for Saturday, as soon as possible, if you feel like it.
– STANDING PLACES
If you do us the pleasure of coming to the concert on Saturday, you have nothing to do, your standing tickets from Friday 16 remain valid for Saturday 17.
If you do not wish to attend the concert on Saturday 17, you can have your tickets refunded until September 30, 2022.
The production of the artist and Mylène Farmer are in no way responsible for this change.
Only this change of gauge, following the Covid exit, imposes this decision on us, despite ourselves.
We hope to see you all on Saturday June 17, 2023 at the Stade de Genève, for a concert that promises to be exceptional and we reiterate our apologies for the inconvenience that this change of date may cause to some.
The entire Live Music Production team.”
The tour Nevermore 2023 is already shaping up to be a success with more than 400,000 tickets sold.
This without new album, single or even direct promotion of Mylène (for now…).
For several dates in France, there is currently no more places available.
Attentive fans had noted that the sales for Geneva were however a little more complicated.
This is the first time since Tower 1996 that Mylène must cancel one or more concerts after the ticket office has opened for them (at the time, the tour had been interrupted following a fall of Mylène in Lyon on June 15; the concerts had been postponed in a very large majority ).
For Nevermore 2023Mylène had already had to give up planned concerts in Russia for August and September due to the current international context. This was announced very early since no date or city had yet been scheduled.
