Lady Diana: "Something is wrong", the focus of a photographer who followed her car

On the occasion of the broadcast of the documentary Death of Lady Di: the double in investigation, one of the photographers present during the accident wanted to give his version of the facts.

On August 31, 1997, Lady Diana lost her life in Paris. While her car is chased by paparazzi, she will be the victim of a serious accident that will take her life. For the British, these photographers who went in pursuit of their Princess are partly responsible for her death. On the occasion of a documentary, broadcast in France on Discovery Investigation on August 28 and 29 under the title “Lady Di’s Death: The Double Enquiry”, one of the photographers present during the accident made a big focus.

And it is in the face of accusations from across the Channel that Jacques Langevin wants to give his version of the facts : “I did my job as a journalist. I didn’t go overboard, I didn’t kill anyone”he begins by indicating, before continuing: “And whether there are photographers who followed the car or not, that’s not what caused the accident. It’s not true. There is something wrong there either” , he explains.

“I even found small fine pearls which belonged to the princess”

During the investigation, the French police want to understand what happened : Martine Monteil, head of the criminal brigade, returned to the day of the tragedy for the documentary dedicated to Lady Diana. The one who was one of the first people to arrive on the scene in the minutes following the accident reported the discovery she made on the spot. “We started to find small clues. We saw traces of brakes, pieces of red light from another car. On the side, we saw traces of paint”, she recalled, before revealing that she had come across jewelry belonging to Lady Diana: “I even found small fine pearls which belonged to the princess”. A shocking discovery. This Wednesday, August 31, it will be 25 years since the mother of princes William and Harry disappeared.
