This Friday September 16, 2022, Théo Fernandez was the second eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars”, after David Douillet. But before getting on the dance floor, the main interested party had confided his doubts to us, admitting to having largely underestimated the difficulties of the competition.

“I hope I don’t get knocked out in the first round, otherwise I think I’m going to cry.” Here is what Theo Fernandez said on Instagram when he announced his participation in “Dancing with the Stars”. The young actor, known for having played in “Les Tuches” and for portraying the character of Gaston Lagaffe in the eponymous film, was best known for his acting skills and his youthful passion for lies only for his athletic ability. And without real surprise, he was eliminated on the evening of his first performance.

Too little training before the competition?

A few days ago, Yahoo had the opportunity to chat with the young budding dancer, slightly disenchanted with the idea of performing on the floor of “Dancing with the Stars”. “I have no experience in dance and physical activity more broadly. I said to myself that if I was offered the show it was because we felt that I was capable of it, otherwise it would have been wickedness”, he said then.

During training, however, he quickly became disillusioned: “I don’t like sport at all. I’m a very homebody and I’m very often in my head. I don’t like it at all. I don’t like being overtaken by events and that’s exactly what’s happening: we get up early and we work until the evening. I should have done some physical preparation .” And to specify: “To go into more detail, I underestimated the difficulty of all this. And it was only a few days ago that I realized that it was necessary to pass the second. I I said to myself it’s not sport, it’s dancing.”

A strange attitude that amazed viewers

During the first prime, during which he did not dance, Theo Fernandez shocked many viewers by appearing quite casual. In the columns of Tele-Leisurehe justified his attitude by saying: “We did not dance during the first prime. It was therefore very long for us. We only watched the other performances and stressed. It was terrible and mentally exhausting. So I ended up letting go a little at the end of the show. I was tired. And I wanted to go home. Because I had back pain from standing up. I wanted to leave. I was thinking about my training the next day at 8 a.m. Given my level, I can’t afford to miss a single session. And then I learned that I had a sequence dedicated to me in the second part. And I didn’t know what to do. I was given a microphone and it gave this result.”

After his elimination, it was on Instagram that he spoke with a message that was surprising to say the least: “I lost a final but I won a hell of an adventure. More seriously, I’ll give you a story at 1,500 points for tell you more about it in detail. But basically, you already know that I had a blast, that Alizée is brilliant, that the whole DALS team is great and that I had hemorrhoids. I’m not leaving neither frustrated nor (ron) chon. Thank you all.” Definitely, Théo Fernandez is a sacred character.
