Marvel Studios is about to release Spider-Man: No Way Home in long version. This Wednesday, September 7, 2022, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will be able to rediscover Jon Watts’ film accompanied by additional sequences. For those who don’t want to pay a new cinema ticket, here are the additional sequences of this new version. SPOILER warning!

Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film comes out in our theaters

the December 15, 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home came out in our dark rooms. Always directed by Jon Watts, who had staged the two previous parts of the saga of the weaver carried by Tom Holland, the feature film allowed to explore the multiverse. Remember, the film tells how old enemies from previous incarnations of Spider-Man land in our universe. A distortion in the time continuum that forces Peter Parker to team up with Dr. Strange to fix this multiversal madness. The two heroes were able to count on the help of two other Spider-Men: those played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Without surprise, Spider-Man: No Way Home proved to be a huge box office success with over $1.9 billion in revenue. However, Sony and Marvel Studios decided to re-release the film through a brand new version this Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Here is what changes in this long version.

Some new sequences

This new version, titled More Fun Stuff will count eleven more minutes compared to the version we already know. For those who don’t feel like going back to the cinema for only 11 more minutes, here is the content of the additional sequences. This is what this new one will contain Spider-Man: No Way Home :

  • The film will begin with a short introduction in which Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire thank fans. Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland then turn to Andrew Garfield to tell him they love him too. A reference to the ending sequence on the Statue of Liberty where Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker proclaims his love for his two counterparts. It is also, perhaps, a way for Sony to clumsily teaser a possible The Amazing Spider-Man 3 highly requested by fans.

  • The film will feature a scene in which Tom Holland catches a thief with his cobwebs. The thug is for the occasion embodied by Harry Holland, the star’s brother. At the time of the production of the film, photos of shooting suggested the presence of this one in the feature film.

  • There will also be a musical sequence on the song Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett in which MJ and Ned prepare to go and capture supervillains to bring them back to Dr Strange’s sanctuary. A sequence which is also already available in the DVD bonuses.

  • We can also quote a short scene in which J. Jonah Jameson talks with an electrician from Spider-Man. The journalist tries to get the latter to admit that Spider-Man is a super-villain.

  • A short scene in an elevator already available online in which Peter Parker and Aunt May wait surrounded by the supervillains of the feature film.

  • A sequence that features Happy and his lawyer, too available in the DVD bonuses.

  • A sequence that takes place at the end of the film in which the three Spider-Men compare their respective villains and past exploits.

  • The film will also feature a all new post-credits scenedarker, in which viewers learn that all mentions to Spider-Man have purely disappeared. A scene which therefore confirms the disappearance of the weaver in the temporal continuum. Even the photos of the vigilante have been erased.

  • Finally, and this is the big chunk of these additions, Spider-Man: No Way Home 2.0 will feature a 5-minute sequence entitled Peter’s Day at Midtown High. This passage will show Peter Parker in the middle of a sports session, questioned by the young Betty Brant for her news channel.

Additions that seem altogether a little light for justify the price of a new movie ticket. Frankly, these additional scenes could be well suited for bonuses within DVDs and Blu-rays. But we leave you alone to judge the interest of this “long” version of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
