After seven years of renovation work, the public parts of the Palace of the Princes of Monaco open their doors again. Tourists will now be able to explore the only palace of the principality of Monaco. Created in 1191 to become the fortress of the republic of Genoa, the impressive building was built on top of the rock of Monaco. It has belonged to the Grimaldi family since 1297 and is the place of residence of Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene and their children, Jacques and Gabriella. In addition to discovering the Grands Appartements, visitors will also be able to see the animal garden which is home to no less than 300 animals of around sixty different species.

Albert and Charlene of Monaco have had a particularly busy summer

The sudden announcement of the reopening of the Palace of the Princes of Monaco surprised the Monegasques, as the princely couple are currently experiencing a very busy summer.
