In a context of economic uncertainty and possible merger with the subsidiary of the Bouygues group, M6 did not announce yesterday any major upheaval in its schedule during the presentation of the programs for the 2022-2023 season. Despite an audience share below 9% for six months, the historical agitator of the PAF, now overtaken by France 3, intends to bet next season on continuity, in access as in prime-time.

To relaunch its pre-evening, one of the weak points of its schedule since April, the Six prefers to wait for the return of its “safe bets“: “Objective Top Chef” at the start of the school year, “Tous en cuisine” at the end of the year and “The best bakery” at the start of the year. From this summer, she will also test “Le combat des regions”, yet another program culinary presented by Norbert Tarayre. Guillaume Charles, the head of the programs of M6, however promises in the long term to “try new concepts” in this strategic box, without revealing more for the moment.
In search of “traitors”
Regarding its prime-time entertainment, M6 – whose evenings have been at their highest on the commercial target for 10 years – will also rely on its historical brands: “Top Chef”, “L’Amour est dans le pré”, ” The best pastry chef”, “Beijing Express” – with a celebrity version this summer -, “Married at first sight” or even “France has incredible talent”. The “Morning Night” band – Michaël Youn, Vincent Desagnat and Benjamin Morgaine – will return for a new crazy unit. From July 1, M6 will also launch in prime-time “Everything change or move”, an ninth magazine on real estate piloted by Stéphane Plaza.
Among the rare new features, let’s mention “Who can beat us?”, a question-and-answer board game in which six M6 personalities will be challenged in their chosen field by French people. Philippe Etchebest will for example be challenged on cooking, Cristina Cordula on clothing and Mac Lesggy on science and health. This summer or at the start of the school year, M6 will also offer “Coup de lumière au bout du monde”, a dating program signed Fremantle where five owners of guest houses, living abroad and single, will receive up to three suitors for share their daily life.
The most original launch will take place this summer with “Will traitors be unmasked?”, a new game presented by Eric Antoine and produced by Studio 89, a subsidiary of the M6 group. In this program adapted from a successful format from the Netherlands (“De Verraders”), 14 personalities will meet in a castle with among them three “traitors” to unmask. David Douillet and his wife Vanessa, actor Martin Lamotte, Clémence Castel from “Koh-Lanta”, or even Delphine Wespiser from “Touche pas à mon poste”, will notably be there.
A dozen evenings of French fiction
Next season, M6 also promises “about ten evenings“dedicated to French fiction. As usual, they will honor”brave heroines“, like “Life, love, right away”, a unit telling the story of Julie, a 16-year-old teenager, suffering from cystic fibrosis, who becomes pregnant. “The man of our lives ” will also be a flagship project of the Six at the start of the school year. Carried by Jonathan Zaccaï, the essential Odile Vuillemin, Élodie Frégé and Helena Noguerra, this series in four episodes will retrace the journey of a man seducing many women to better defraud them. .
Another large-scale French fiction for M6, “La maison d’opposite” will plunge viewers into the lives of two neighboring couples in a residential area, whose relationship will take them to a point of no return. This series in six episodes will be embodied by Julie de Bona, Marc Ruchmann, Caterina Murino and Thierry Neuvic. Finally, the channel will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its short program, “Caméra Café”, with a bang, with a unit once again featuring Bruno Solo and Yvan Le Bolloc’h in the roles of Hervé Dumont and Jean-Claude Convenant.
Victim, like TF1, of a drying up by the platforms of the American series market, M6 will continue to reduce the sails in this area. The launches of international series on its antenna will for the moment be limited to “Blanca”, an Italian series with Maria Chiara Giannetta, “The Equalizer”, carried by Queen Latifah, or even “The Thing About Pam” led by Renee Zellwegger. La Six has also acquired “NCIS: Hawaiʻi”, the fourth series derived from the historic franchise that it has been broadcasting since 2004 on its antenna.
In the privacy of Johnny Hallyday
Finally, M6 intends to delight fans of Johnny Hallyday by offering next season “Johnny by Laeticia”, an unprecedented dive into the intimacy of the rocker, whose five years of disappearance will be commemorated in December. Signed William Karel, this documentary will be composed of images never seen by the general public because taken from the personal archives of Laeticia Hallyday.
