Allowances, bonuses, fuel… here are all the aids planned for the start of the school year!

Allowances and aid to boost the purchasing power of French households: this is THE subject of the start of the 2022 school year! Indeed, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, observes with great attention the question of purchasing power. Battered by the war in Ukraine and runaway inflation, it’s never seen since 1985!

On the eve of the start of the school year, many households will finally be able to benefit from various allowances in order to cope with inflation. Back-to-school bonus, fuel discount, school allowance… Thus, a certain number of aids are planned at the dawn of a new school year marked by inflation and the energy crisis. once upon a time explains everything to you.

The Back to School Allowance

It is distributed each year to three million families as the start of the school year approaches. Its amount differs according to the age of the child. From 6 to 10 years old, parents receive 392.05 euros per child. The amount increases to 413.69 euros for children aged 11 to 14. It is 428.02 euros for children between 15 and 18 years old. The back-to-school allowance (ARS) is paid on the eve of the start of the school year and in one go. It allows parents to bear the often very high costs of the start of the school year. ” The back-to-school allowance is useful and fair! It is a precious help (…) to finance the children’s supplies and to meet the back-to-school expenses. “, declares the spokesman of the government, Olivier Véran.

Big news this year: as number of allowances, it was revalued by 4% within the framework of the purchasing power law. The back-to-school allowance has normally already been paid in part. The increase will be the subject of a second installment by the middle of September.

The return bonus

Parliament voted, on August 4, as part of the purchasing power bill, an exceptional back-to-school bonus which aims to support taxpayers. The back-to-school bonus is aimed at the most modest households, who already receive the social minima, APL and scholarship students. The payment will take place on September 15.

The Minister of Solidarity, Jean-Christophe Combe, evokes ” a guarantee of solidarity and social justice for families and for those who are strongly impacted by inflation“. The amount of this allowance is 100 euros per household and 50 euros per dependent child.

The fuel discount

Due to inflation, prices have soared, and in particular that of energy. For more than six monthsfuel prices have soared, often rising above 2 euros per litre.

The fuel discount decided under the authority of Jean Castex and extended by Élisabeth Borne aims to lower the price at the pump. This is a discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel, in place since April 1. Its amount will even be increased during the months of September and October, reaching a discount of 30 cents. From November, it will fall and this time will drop to 10 cents.

The Pass’Sport allowance

The Pass’Sport is a sports back-to-school allowance of 50 euros per eligible child/young adult to finance all or part of their registration in an eligible sports structure for the 2022-2023 season. Minor students receiving a back-to-school allowance, recipients of the education allowance for disabled children under the age of 19, scholarship students under the age of 28, as well as the recipients of the allowance disabled adults under 30 will be able to obtain the Pass’Sport.

Assistance with the purchase of an electric bicycle

If there has already been, for several years, help for cyclists who wish to invest in a bicycle, today it extends to the electric bicycle.

Is the price of fuel too expensive for you? Or do you want to do something for the environment? Indeed, aid devices will accompany your approach from August 15th until December 31st. The aid can reach 2000 euros for the purchase of a cargo bike, a folding bike, an electric bike trailer or a bike adapted for people with disabilities. For a simple new bicycle, the aid can go up to 400 euros.

This allowance is intended for people whose taxable income per share is less than 13,489 euros. For people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per unit is less than or equal to 6,300 euros. Thus, the aid can go up to 400 euros.

The value-sharing bonus

The value-sharing bonus replaces the exceptional purchasing power bonus known as the “Macron bonus” or “PEPA”. It is, according to the same principle: exemption from social charges to encourage companies to pay it to their employees, and tax exemption for employees who receive it, under certain conditions.

It is optional because it depends on the employer. If the employee earns less than three times the minimum wage, the bonus is fiscally advantageous. Thus, he can benefit from an exemption from social contributions and income tax, capped at 3,000 euros. In some cases, it can reach 6,000 euros. The premium may be paid in one or more instalments, within the limit of one per quarter.
