Alan Virginius, a young talent at the Mastiffs

LOSC continues its transfer window and continues to prepare for the future. The young and promising international U16, U17, then U19 French winger (22 caps, 7 goals), Alan Virginius, has signed up for the Lille club. The former Sochalien (19) has signed a contract with LOSC until 2027.

He is one of the revelations of the past season in Ligue 2. Raw talent with still significant room for improvement, Alan Virginius was courted by many elite teams, both in France and abroad. But the hard-hitting French U19 international winger has chosen LOSC to continue his development at the highest level.

Born on January 3, 2003 in Soisy-sous-Montmorency (Val-d’Oise), Alan started playing football at the age of 6 in the club of his city, Soisy-Andilly-Margency FC, like Louis Saha before him. And like the former French international, his qualities quickly opened the doors to INF Clairefontaine. Alongside his training in the Pôle Espoirs d’Île-de-France, he spent a season at the Entente Sannois-Saint-Gratien (2017-2018), before joining the FC Sochaux-Montbéliard training center at the summer of 2018, when he was only 15 years old.

In the Doubs, Alan refines his apprenticeship, before signing his first pro contract two years later, in July 2020, then playing his first match in Ligue 2 (against Rodez, 2-2, on 09/19/20). At 17 years, 11 months and 2 days, he scored his first professional goal (against Nancy, 1-1, 05/12/20), becoming the youngest scorer of the season in Ligue 2, but also the one of the earliest in the history of the Doubiste club. His first double (against Chambly, 1-4, on 05/02/21) accompanied by an assist (in just 13 minutes!) concludes a first season full of promise with the pros (15 appearances, 3 goals, 2 assists decisive in 2020-2021). The next is that of revelation for the one who will double his number of matches by appearing 31 times in Ligue 2 (5 goals, 2 assists) over the whole of the 2021-2022 financial year.

Alan Virginius presents the profile of a percussion winger, right-handed, but capable of evolving on the entire front of the attack. Endowed with a significant burst of speed, good technical and elimination skills, he also exports his qualities under the tricolor jersey. International U16 (6 selections, 2 goals), U17 (1 selection) then U19 (15 selections, 5 goals), he actively participated in the epic of Les Bleuets, semi-finalists of Euro U19, last June (3 goals, 3 assists).

The next stages of his promising career, Alan Virginius will cross them in the jersey of Lille. LOSC is delighted with the recruitment of this new talent who is also appreciated for his values of hard work and humility. We wish him the best development in our club.

Welcome to LOSC, Alan!

“We are pleased to announce the signing of Alan Virginius. While there were many requests for a player who can play in all offensive positions, Alan chose LOSC to continue his development. We will gradually integrate him into the team and implement the next steps in his development. Alan’s signature allows us to anticipate and prepare for the future. Welcome Alan. »

“It’s an honour, a pride to sign for this great club, LOSC. I am very happy to be part of this team. My ambitions ? To achieve great things, to work hard to progress, to impose myself and to help the team achieve its objectives. I don’t know the Lille region yet, but people have told me a lot of good things about it. I’m also looking forward to hitting the stadium lawn and meeting the Lille supporters. »
